Avoid these common mistakes while Draping a Saree

Common mistake #1

Draping a Saree above the Navel. This results in Saree falling short on height and hence often leads to inner skirt (Peticoat) popping out or ankles showing up in a Saree. Wearing saree too high i.e. above the navel or too low i.e. above the bikini line can spoil the entire look and make you look less elegant.

Wearing it too high makes you look as if you are from 50’s, also it will make your tummy bulge more visible and hide your curves making your body look straight.

In the same way wearing your saree too low can spoil its Natural elegance and grace. It can make you look cheap.

Saree should always be worn just below the navel.

It enhances your curves and makes your saree look elegant and graceful. It makes you appear taller as well.

Common mistake #2

Tying the inner skirt knot too tightly. This creates a lot of discomfort and hence many people hate the process of draping a saree. The knot does not need to be tight but needs to be appropriately tied (sometimes at the center of waist and sometimes at the side of waist).

Tying your petticoat too tight can leave its mark and wearing it too loose will not hold saree at its place. Your petticoat should be only tight till the point you feel comfortable. After trying see that it has 2 fingers space .

Common mistake #3

Starting from lower pleats and ending on pallu pleats often resulting in shorter pallu on shoulder and hence redo the whole draping again. Learn how to start with deciding shoulder pallu length and then drape the saree to perfection in one go. Enroll for our live session today to learn how to avoid these mistakes
