How to Wear Saree in Basic Style

Step By Step Guide To Wear Saree In Basic Style

Follow these steps to wear saree in basic style:

  • Step 1

Start wearing the Saree by tucking its plain upper end into the petticoat at a position which is a little bit to the right of the NAVEL.

Make sure that the lower end of the Saree should be touching the floor and similarly the whole length of Saree comes on the left-hand side.

Now wrap the Saree around yourself once with the Saree now coming back in the front on your right side.

  • Step 2

Now wrap the Saree one more time around the waist without tucking the Saree in the petticoat and bring it to your front

  • Step 3

Now hold the other end of the Saree for making the Pallav pleats. After that, you can make the pleats broad or narrow as per the border of saree or your comfortability.

Once pleats are done, bear in mind that both ends/points of the Pallav should be opposite to each other i.e. if one point is facing north then the other should be facing south

  • Step 4

Pinup those pleats with the blouse after adjusting the length of the Pallav

  • Step 5

Now hold the Saree from where it is pinned and cover it on your chest. Bring it across from your right to your left from behind

  • Step 6

Now measure the Saree by bringing it till your right in front. Pin it with the petticoat onto your right side leg.

Lift the saree about 3-4 inches below this pin and again pin it with the petticoat below the earlier pin.

Above all, this will give you a fitted look below the waist.

  • Step 7

Make your patli pleats. In addition, align them neatly and secure with a safety pin.

  • Step 8

Neatly tuck the pleats into the petticoat at the waist to the right of the navel in such a manner that they open to your left.

Secure your patli with patli pin

This is the way how you can wear saree in Basic style.
