How to wear Saree in Modern Pallu Style
Step By Step Guide To Wear Saree In Gujarati Style
Follow these steps to wear the saree in Modern Pallu style:
- Step 1
The process is similar to Basic Style. For Basic style, Click here!
- Step 2
Make about 6-8 pleats of equal width of 4-5 inches, starting at the tucked-in end. Gather the pleats together, neatly, ensuring that the lower edges of the pleats are even and just off the ground and that the pleats fall straight and evenly. Moreover, a Saree pin may be used to stop the pleats from scattering
- Step 3
Neatly tuck the pleats into the petticoat at the waist,
slightly to the right of the navel in such a manner that they open to your
left.
- Step 4
Bring the remaining part of the Saree from left to right
from behind
- Step 5
Hold the two ends of the Pallav at the back
- Step 6
The end in the right hand should come in the front and end in the left hand should stay at the back. After that, tie a knot of the pallav end and place it on the left shoulder.
- Step 7
Now leave the saree till knee length behind on the left
side and start making patli pleats of the remaining saree.
These pleats should be placed next to the earlier patli pleats, pleats should be facing opposite i.e. opening towards the right. Secure patli pleats with a safety pin.
- Variation
Halter neck Style- In step 6-hold both the pallu ends, bring it from back to front, below from the respective shoulders and tie the ends behind the neck as u wear a halter neck. Rest all steps remain the same.
